Patel S.I.R’ was produced by Sai Korrepati’s banner, but it is open secret that Jagapathi Babu invested his money in this film and that he didn’t take remuneration either.
He wanted to test his luck as a lead hero once again. So, he put in his money on this film, which was loosely based on a Hong Kong movie ‘Vengeance’ directed by Johnnie To.
Although he won praise for his makeover and performance as Patel, the movie failed at the box-office.
The collections were awfully bad. It has now officially been declared a big dud. Jagapathi Babu will be gaining nothing financially from this attempt and his total investment has been wasted.
His well-wishers did stop him and advised him to not to make such bad investments and continue doing villain and character roles as he is in much demand for such characters. They warned him not to repeat old mistakes.
At one time, he lost his entire money in gambling and landed in huge debt. It was at that time that he switched on to playing negative roles and fortunes have changed since then.
Let’s hope he does not take chances again.
