Hero Sumanth made a comeback on the silver screen almost after two and half years with his latest film Naruda Donoruda. As it is a remake of successful Hindi film Vicky Donor, there is a decent hype on the film from last few days. To know whether it lived up to the expectations, check out the review below:

Synopsis:

Vikram (Sumanth) is an unemployed carefree guy who dreams about making a lot of money but never tries to earn. Anjaneyulu (Tanikella Bharani) is a doctor who works in an infertility center and he looks for a sperm donor. One day he meets Vikram and asks him to become a sperm donor. At first, Vikram doesn’t agree but eventually he accepts for the sake of money.

Meanwhile, Vikram meets a bank employee Ashima Roy (Pallavi Subhash) and falls for her. Even Ashima starts loving him after few instances. But Vikram doesn’t tell Ashima that he is  a sperm donor. Did he reveal the truth to Ashima? How did she react when she comes to know about Vikram’s occupation? To know these answers, you should watch the film.

Performances:

First of all, after watching the film, one would feel that Sumanth is a misfit for this role. Though he tried hard to entertain the audience, the character itself didn’t suit him. His expressions in some of the crucial scenes were not up to the mark. Even his comedy timing was average. But he performed well during the emotional scenes in the second half. The main asset of this film is Tanikella Bharani. He suited perfectly for the role and keeps the audience entertained throughout the film.  Pallavi Subhash is glamourous but went overboard in acting during few scenes. Rest of the cast were oka

Technical and overall analysis:

Director Mallik has failed to remake the film according to the nativity of Telugu audience. He could’ve taken some more care while writing the script. As it is a remake of successful film Vicky Donor, there was decent hype on it but the director didn’t succeed in reaching those expectations. Music by Sri Charan Pakala is average. Though songs are good, they seem to be similar to one another. Background score is okay. The cinematography and the dialogues are good.

Sperm Donor concept is very new to the Telugu film industry. If you have taken up such bold concept, you have to handle it very carefully. But Naruda Donoruda fails in that. The first half of the film runs with few love scenes and few comedy scenes. In the second half, it becomes more emotional. This film cannot be watched with family as it has few scenes which might make the family audience uncomfortable. As the movie was made on a shoestring budget, there are high chances for it to recover the money back.  Overall, Naruda Donoruda might work better in B, C centers than in A centers and multiplexes.

One-line verdict:

Infertile Donor

Rating: 2/5
