Bengali actress -turned-politician Nusrat Jahan got married to Kolkata-based businessman Nikhil Jain in Turkey. The actress broke the news of her marriage sharing the duo holding each other’s hand with the caption, “Towards a happily ever after with Nikhil Jain.”
The newly-elected MP Nusrat Jahan won the Basirhat seat with a huge margin at the recently concluded elections, however, she missed the oath-taking ceremony at the parliament due to her wedding. The bride went for a red lehenga while Jain opted for a white outfit
The couple got married in the presence of close relatives and friends at the southern Aegean coast of Turkey. Nusrat’s parents and sister and other close relatives flew with her to Bodrum on June 16. Notably, the bride’s friend, Mimi Chakraborty, an actress and first time MP also skipped her oath-taking ceremony to attend the wedding. The couple has planned a reception ceremony in Kolkata on July 4. The reception is likely to be attended by film personalities and political leaders.
