Roshan Kanakala, son of Suma and Rajeev Kanakala, stepped into the film industry with his debut in the romantic drama “Bubblegum,” released on December 29th. Unfortunately, the film received a lukewarm response in theaters, earning poor reviews and falling short at the box office. However, there is a new opportunity for redemption as the movie is gearing up for its digital premiere on Aha, starting from February 9th.
Directed by Ravikanth Perepu, known for his previous works like “Kshanam” and “Krishna and His Leela,” Bubblegum revolves around the life of a young aspiring DJ, showcasing how unexpected events can turn his life upside down. Despite its intended youth-centric appeal, the film faced criticism for forced emotions and a dragged second half with repetitive scenes.
Aha has acquired the digital rights for Bubblegum, and it remains to be seen how the online audience will respond to this romantic drama. The cast includes Roshan Kanakala, Maanasa Chowdary, Harsha Chemudu, Kiran Macha, Anu Hasan, Bindu Chandramouli, Anannyaa Akulaa, Chaitu Jonnalagadda, and Harsha Vardhan in pivotal roles.
The creative team behind Bubblegum includes director Ravikanth Perepu, music composer Sricharan Pakala, producer P Vimala of Maheshwari Productions, and editors Ravikanth Perepu, K Balakrishna Reddy, Balu Manoj, Seri-Ganni. Suresh Ragutu took charge of the cinematography.
Now, with its digital release on Aha, Bubblegum gets a second chance to connect with audiences, hoping to find success in the realm of online streaming.
