Review Netflix Pitta Kathalu All hype but no substance
So much is being said about Netflix Pitta Kathalu from the day it was announced. After being in the making for a long time, it is out now. Read our review to find out if this film has any juice or not.

Plot

The Anthology film has four different stories in the form of Ramula, which is directed by Tharun Bhaskar and is set in rural Telangana. The second story is Meera directed by Nandini Reddy and is about a husband who always doubts his wife. The third story is X Life which is directed by Nag Ashwin and is about a futuristic world. The last story is Pink and is about a couple who are in an illegal relationship. It is directed by Sankalp Reddy.

 Performances

The performances in some of the short films are good. Manchu Lakshmi is very good as Swaroopakka and has that swag in her screen presence. Abhay is the star of Ramula as he does a superb job in his role. Sanvi was amazing as Ramula. In Meera, Jagapathi Babu overacts like there is no tomorrow.

But Amala Paul, who plays his wife was very good. Shruthi Haasan sleepwalks in her role and has o clue what is happening. The last story of Pinky is the worst as every actor like Satyadev, Eesha Rebba and Ashima do not have any clue what is happening. They just come on board, mouth their lines, and go back. Such is their involvement.

 Analysis

Netflix has spent so much money on this film and it is visible. They have chosen power dynamics in a couple as the main theme of the film and tried to showcase the stories. The best of the four stories is undoubtedly Ramula, which has some soul in it. You get a feel that is watching something very good.

Shruti Haasan But once Meera starts, things go for a toss as silly emotions and fake relationships take shape. Worst of all is the film by Nag Ashwin. It is so shocking to see a man like him make such a film that is weird and has no direction. His narration is silly and you don’t even understand what is even going on.
 Eesha Rebba
The last story is ended on a very abrupt note and leaves you with a big headache. In a nutshell, Netflix’s first original Telugu anthology is all hype but no substance and should totally leave such stuff to their own and watch films on the big screen.
