Aak Paak Karepak is a comic thriller

Aak Paak Karepak is a crime comedy by Ugandhar Muni. Ugandhar Muni is a B.Tech in computer science and worked in IT for ten years. He is also a SAP architect and after a while did a direction course in the USA. This film has three major characters. Their journey is their movie. Director Ugandhar Muni has given these personalities a whacky kind of characterization. In the film, two of them are vagabonds from a village and one is a small-time smuggler. They were apparently classmates in childhood and had studied the seventh standard for 15 years after which they gave up education. There are two more friends with them and these three people utilise the rest of the two.

The story is actually a comedy of errors and the hero is Sagar who worked in Shaadi Mubarak. Aak Pak Karepak is like a game, it means nothing. The characters go to strike a deal and all of them get nicknames and it is Aak, Paak and Karepak. Are there any similarities between this film and Jathi Ratnalu? The director says, “There is no character transformation in JR and wherever they started they stayed at the same place. In Jathi Ratnalu it is aimless but here there is an objective and there are wacky characters. It is all about how these guys buy problems and how they get out of it. The hero is selfish, over a period of time he is shown as being transformed. The remaining are not selfish, they are good hearted. The other two are good, normal people and when they come across something, they try to sell it off. In this process they don’t trust each other but in the end the bond becomes strong, and they lose everything.. which is money.” The director stresses that there is no sleaze and double meaning dialogues. There is situational comedy. The film will be completely shot in Machilipatnam and it will take 40 days. Uganda’s first project couldn’t do well at the theatres but got good reviews in OTT. This is his second film.
