Amid Kangana-Urmila spat, trolls slam Amul

After Jaya Bachchan’s ‘thaali’ comment in the Rajya Sabha, people were quick to dig out Jaya Bachchan’s picture holding a thaali in Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gam and that actually looked appropriate. But today netizens woke up to another similar stuff but this time Rahul Da Cunha, one of the creative directors of Amul advertisements drew flak for digging it out. He said that the ad was released in 1995.

Amid Kangana Urmil spat tolls slam AmulThis resurfaced with a claim that it’s a recent one and is allegedly taking a jibe at Bollywood actor Urmila Matondkar after actor Kangana Ranaut alluded to her as a ‘soft porn star’ in a recent interview to Times Niw. As many have pointed out, this one is not a new one and was released by Amul back in 1995 when the film actually released. It marked Matondkar’s progression in Hindi films from a naive young Pinky in Masoom to the gorgeously sensual character of Mili in Rangeela. However fitting the cartoon may seem to the online trolls, given the current context, it is many years old. Shahi Siddiqui, former Member of Parliament and managing director and chief editor at Weekly Nai Duniya, commented on the image saying: “In poor taste, Amul no more as Yummy as it used to be. Stop buttering RW bigotry and small mindedness.”
