Ammayi Movie Review

RGV is making back-to-back films and he is once again ready with a new film called Ammayi which is an action drama. The film is out and, read our review to find out if the film has any juice in it or not.

Plot

Pooja played by Pooja Bhaleka is a martial arts expert who comes to Mumbai to gain more prominence in the field. She joins a coaching center that teaches the Bruce Lee style of martial arts. But issues related to the land on which the coaching center stands leave Pooja in deep problems. What did she do to save the land is the crux of Ammayi.

Performances

Pooja Bhalekar is a real-life martial arts expert who gets enough scope to showcase her well-toned body. Ram Gopal Varma, who also designs the stunts showcases her in a good way. But there are also a few scenes that look cheap thanks to the camera angles of RGV. Abhimanyu Singh and Rajpal Yadav ham like there is no tomorrow. The rest of the cast is also not worth mentioning here.

Analysis

Ram Gopal Varma is known to make solid dramas but he is trying all cheap films with sleaze these days and Ammayi is also one of them. The story is about a girl who is a martial art expert. The story is simple and has absolutely no weight in the proceedings as there is a novelty factor.

RGV shows glamor in the way it looks weird in many scenes. The way he exposed the heroine’s body looks dirty in so many scenes. The action sequences are also not that great and the film is no way an ode to Bruce Lee as it is filled with mundane drama.

The actors also do not perform well thereby creating a difficult situation for the audience to sit through the film. In a nutshell, the film is bad and has nothing worth speaking about. Such films only spoil the name of RGV even further making the audience hate him even more.

Bottom Line – Sleaze fest
