Megastar Chiranjeevi, the revered icon of Tollywood and beloved by fans, is all set to captivate audiences once again with his upcoming film, Bholaa Shankar. Directed by Meher Ramesh, who aims for a blockbuster, this mass entertainer has failed to generate significant buzz.
It must be acknowledged that the teaser for Bholaa Shankar received a mixed response, with even Chiru fans expressing disappointment. Some felt that the storyline was outdated, especially for a stalwart like Chiranjeevi. Moreover, the Hindi movie Animal, directed by Telugu filmmaker Sundeep Reddy Vanga and starring Ranbir Kapoor, initially posed a threat as both films were scheduled to release on the same day, August 11th. Animal seemed to have more potential in terms of hype and box office dominance. But, Animal’s official postponement to December now provides Bholaa Shankar a better chance to dominate the box office, but only if it delivers compelling content.
Bholaa Shankar is in the final stages of production, with Tamannaah Bhatia in a leading role and National Award winner Keerthy Suresh playing Chiru’s sister. The high-budget film features Mahati Swara Sagar as the music director, with Ramabrahmam Sunkara producing it under the AK Entertainments banner.
In addition to Bholaa Shankar, Chiranjeevi has another project lined up with Kalyan Krishna, known for his previous film Bangarraju. The film is set to commence shooting soon, and there are expectations of Trisha Krishnan reuniting with Chiranjeevi after their successful collaboration in the film Stalin.
