When web shows were still a novelty in India, The Family Man, created by Raj and DK and starring Manoj Bajpayee, emerged as a game-changer in the world of OTT content.
Interestingly, there’s an intriguing twist to the story: Megastar Chiranjeevi was actually the first choice for the series. Recently, producer Ashwini Dutt revealed in an interview that they had initially planned to develop The Family Man as a film under Vyjayanthi Movies. However, Chiranjeevi didn’t express interest in the project at that point.
According to Ashwini Dutt, Raj and DK were even willing to adapt the script by removing the kids’ characters to accommodate Chiranjeevi’s preferences, but he declined the offer. This decision coincided with Chiranjeevi’s success with Khaidi No 150, and he chose not to take up the opportunity.
Consequently, the script underwent a transformation, leading to the creation of the web series that went on to make history. Many netizens now feel that Chiranjeevi might regret not seizing the chance to be a part of what turned out to be a remarkable storyline.
