Now, an interesting buzz is making the rounds on social media regarding Shah Rukh Khan’s potential involvement in the film Padmaavat (previously known as Padmavati), directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starring Deepika Padukone.
According to a recent report, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had approached Shah Rukh Khan to play the role of Alauddin Khilji when Ranveer Singh couldn’t commit to the project due to other commitments. However, Shah Rukh Khan reportedly requested Bhansali to change the film’s title, which the director agreed to.
Unfortunately, Deepika Padukone expressed her discontent with Shah Rukh Khan’s inclusion in the project if it meant changing the title. This created confusion for Bhansali, as Deepika was the one who intended to play the lead role.
Ultimately, Bhansali apologised to Shah Rukh Khan and cast Ranveer Singh in the film. Later, due to controversies surrounding the film, the title was changed to Padmaavat.
