DYK Rajasekhar lost golden chance to star in Allu Arjun-Trivikram film
Senior Telugu actor Rajasekhar is known for his strong performances in many hit films from the past. He earned the title “Angry Star” for his powerful roles in movies like Ankusham, Ahuti, Allari Priyudu, Maa Annayya, and Simharashi. These movies brought him name and fame in the Telugu film industry. However, in the last decade, Rajasekhar’s career slowed down, and he was not seen in many successful films.
Rajasekhar made a solid comeback with the movie Garuda Vega, directed by Praveen Sattaru. He said, “After Garuda Vega, I realized I should not repeat my past mistakes. The story of Garuda Vega was liked not just by me, but also by my wife Jeevitha and my daughters. That’s why I agreed to act in it, even though the budget was high.”
After Garuda Vega, Rajasekhar tried a few other films, but they did not work out as expected. There were even reports that he was ready to act in villain roles. Rajasekhar gave clarity on this in a recent interview. He said, “If I get a good role with strong content, I am ready to act as a villain. Not just villain roles, I’m also open to acting in multi-starrer films with young heroes. Even if it is a character artist role, I will do it if it is important to the story.”
One interesting revelation Rajasekhar made was about a missed opportunity to act with Allu Arjun. He shared that he was supposed to play a role in Trivikram Srinivas’ film Son of Satyamurthy. The role was eventually played by Upendra. Rajasekhar said, “I liked that character very much. It had good scope for acting. I heard that Trivikram had written the role keeping me in mind. I was also told that he would soon meet me to narrate the story. But I don’t know what happened later. I never got that chance. If Trivikram had asked me, I would have surely acted in Son of Satyamurthy.”
Rajasekhar also revealed another film he missed. He said he was first considered for the role played by Prakash Raj in the movie Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. These missed roles show that Rajasekhar could have had some strong roles in big films, but things didn’t work out.
