Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut once had a chance to star in the Telugu blockbuster Pokiri with Mahesh Babu. This movie, released in 2006, became one of the biggest hits of Mahesh’s career and gave him a strong mass hero image. However, not many know that Kangana was the original choice for the heroine’s role.
At the time, director Puri Jagannadh wanted a Bollywood actress for Pokiri. Kangana, who was then working on her Hindi film Gangster, couldn’t adjust her dates. Because of this, she had to say no to the film. The role later went to Ileana D’Cruz, who became an overnight sensation in the Telugu film industry with this movie.
