Prabhas is currently working on multiple films, one of which is being directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. Hanu previously directed Sita Ramam and the film was a surprise hit that starred Dulquer Salmaan and introduced Mrunal Thakur to Tollywood.
Meanwhile, the shooting of Fauji was progressing quickly until Prabhas suffered an injury, temporarily halting production. Despite this, the film remains in the news, with recent rumors in Telugu cinema circles suggesting that Fauji is inspired by Shah Rukh Khan’s film Veer-Zaara, directed by Yash Chopra.
In Veer-Zaara, Shah Rukh Khan plays an army officer who is imprisoned in Pakistan while searching for his love, played by Preity Zinta. According to speculation, Fauji might have a similar storyline, possibly focusing on a love story spanning several years.
However, sources from the film’s production team have denied these rumors. An insider clarified that while Prabhas is indeed playing an army officer, the storyline is entirely different. Hanu Raghavapudi has written an original script for this period drama, which will feature both romance and action.
Fans have been eager to see Prabhas in a romantic role, as it has been a long time since he acted in one. His last romantic film Radhe Shyam, did not perform well at the box office. Apart from Fauji, Prabhas is busy with several other projects. He is working on The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi Dasari, and Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Additionally, he will soon begin shooting for Kalki 2898 AD – Part 2.
