Higher Denomination Notes’ Validity Extended

To relief the common people who are facing a lot of problems to exchange or deposit their 500 and 1000 rupee notes, the government has extended the validity of those notes in petrol pumps, milk booths, government hospitals, pharmacies, bus stations, railway stations and airports till November 24.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has conducted a meeting with the government official to discuss the measures that need to be taken for the convenience of the common man. The government has set up a task force comprising of bank officials and RBI officials which will monitor the recalibration of ATMs to suit for the new 500 and 2000 rupee notes. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that this whole process might take up to 2-3 weeks.
