Actor Amitabh Bachchan has called for legal action in response to a deepfake video featuring Rashmika Mandanna that has been circulating on social media. In the video, a woman wearing a black outfit enters an elevator, but her face has been digitally altered to resemble the actress. This incident has raised concerns about the spread of unreliable information on the internet.
The woman in the original video is Zara Patel, a British-Indian influencer with a significant social media following. She uploaded the video on October 9. At first glance, it’s challenging to distinguish the edited version from the real Ms. Mandanna, making it easier for social media users to be deceived. However, upon closer examination, one can notice that the woman’s face changes to that of the actress ‘Goodbye’ when she enters the elevator.
Rashmika Mandanna has not yet responded to this incident, but many people were shocked and called for action from the authorities. “This is terrifying,” said one user.
“It’s astonishing how realistic this video appears,” commented another.
A third person added, “It’s extremely concerning how unreliable online information has become.”
“Scariest thing you’ll see on the internet… it’s all here now. We used to joke about morphing, but this is on another level,” expressed another user.
In Rashmika’s upcoming projects, she will be appearing in ‘Animal’ alongside Ranbir Kapoor. Additionally, she is set to star in ‘The Girlfriend,’ a film with a unique love story yet to be revealed.
