Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy hailed his Telangana counterpart K. Chandrashekhar Rao and police officers in the wake of Hyderabad encounter, where four accused were killed in the gruesome murder of 26-year-old veterinarian. “Hats off to KCR garu and Telangana police officers,” Jagan said in State Assembly.
“Encounter took place. If it happens in film… if the hero resorts to encounter, everybody claps. If it happens in real life and if somebody courageous does it, National Human Rights Commission comes rushing. They say what happened is wrong, it should not have happened and ask why it happened,” remarked Jagan in obvious criticism of NHRC for sending a team to investigate the encounter. Jagan also stated that while nobody wants someone to take law into his hands and go on killing the perpetrators of such heinous crimes, the situation had come to such a pass that victims have lost hope of getting justice due to delays, laws proving ineffective and the culprits going unpunished.
