The former actress,Honourable Minister of Tamil Nadu, President of AIDMK party and Purutchi Thalaivi Jayalalitha has passed away last night in Chennai. Jayalalitha was being hospitalized for last two and half months due to ill health. On September 22, she was admitted to Apollo hospitals due to dehydration and other health issues. On last Sunday, she suffered a major cardiac arrest which made her survival chances much bleaker. She was treated with some advanced support system and top most doctors but none of them couldn’t save her. Finally, she breathed her last at 11:30 PM on December 5.
Jayalalitha is known as an epitome of courage, boldness and woman power. She was fondly called as Amma by the people of Tamil Nadu. Entered AIDMK under the presidency of MGR, Jayalalitha went to become the front face of the party and led it successfully for more than 25 years. This iron lady served as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for five consecutive terms. Her demise has pushed entire Tamil Nadu into a sad state. AIDMK leader O. Panneer Selvam took up the charges as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Her body was kept in Rajaji Hall in Chennai for Public homage. Many politicians, actors and other celebrities paid their condolences on her demise. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay his last respects at Rajaji Hall shortly. Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu, Actors Vijay, Prabhu and many others have visited Rajaji Hall this morning. Jayalaitha’s funeral will be held at Marina this evening around 04:30 PM.
