Kalki 2898 AD OTT release:
The highly anticipated movie Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, has been released today to great acclaim. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film blends dystopian science fiction with Indian mythology featuring impressive visuals and stellar performances. Critics and fans alike have praised its story and graphics, with Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan adding to the star-studded cast.
However, despite its successful theatrical run, the film’s digital release plans have hit a snag. Sources reveal that Amazon Prime holds the OTT rights for multiple languages, while Netflix secured the rights for the Hindi version. Originally slated for late July 2024, the OTT release has been pushed back to the second week of September.
The decision to delay the digital release aims to maximize the film’s theatrical success. With Kalki 2898 AD continuing to perform strongly at the box office, the makers are keen to extend its run in cinemas. As per the reports, “As the film is doing great business, the makers want Kalki to have a long run in the theaters. We need to see how Kalki 2898 AD will perform in the days to come.”
Directed and written by Nag Ashwin, the film also features Disha Patani and cameos from Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, S S Rajamouli, and Mrunal Thakur. Produced by C Aswani Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies, it boasts music by Santhosh Narayanan and cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic. The film, reportedly made on a budget of Rs 600 crore, was initially scheduled for May 9 but faced delays due to production issues.
