Kuberaa Box Office Collection Day 1

The much-awaited bilingual film Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula and starring Dhanush and Nagarjuna, hit the big screens on June 20, 2025. Made as a crime drama, the film had a solid opening, collecting around ₹13 crore net across India on its first day. This performance reflects the strong buzz the movie had before its release.

Although Kuberaa had a great start, it slightly fell short of beating Dhanush’s previous film Raayan, which earned ₹13.65 crore on its opening day. Nevertheless, the opening figure shows that the film has successfully attracted audiences in both Tamil and Telugu markets.

Shot in both languages, Kuberaa also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil in important roles. The film was originally titled D51, marking Dhanush’s 51st film, before it was renamed. Most of the filming took place in Hyderabad and Mumbai earlier in 2024.

The story of Kuberaa revolves around crime, power, and transformation. Dhanush plays the role of Deva, and Nagarjuna takes on the role of Deepak. Rashmika plays Sameera, while Jim Sarbh portrays Neeraj, adding layers of intrigue to the plot. Though the exact storyline has been kept under wraps, the cast and theme have already sparked public interest.

A grand pre-release event held in Hyderabad on June 15 added to the hype, with director S. S. Rajamouli attending as the chief guest and launching the trailer. The film’s music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, and the technical crew includes cinematographer Niketh Bommireddy, editor Karthika Srinivas, and production designer Thota Tharani.

Despite competition from other releases, Kuberaa has managed to create a strong first impression. How well it performs over the weekend will decide its long-term success at the box office. For now, it’s off to a promising start.
