With an IMDb rating of 8.6, ‘Manjummel Boys’ will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The film is set in 2006 in Tamil Nadu’s Kodaikanal and follows a group of individuals on an expedition to the famous Gunaa caves, named after Kamal Haasan’s 1991 film shot in the same location.

The movie depicts a group of friends facing various challenges as they try to rescue their companion from a difficult situation. Chidambaram, the writer, and director, expressed his joy at the film’s reception and its ability to connect with audiences nationwide. He looks forward to the film’s OTT release, highlighting the opportunity for viewers to enjoy it in their preferred language.

He said, “I am truly overwhelmed by the response ‘Manjummel Boys’ has received. We aimed to create a film that resonates universally, transcending language barriers, and seeing its connection with audiences across India is immensely gratifying. Partnering with Disney+ Hotstar to make the movie accessible in different languages is a pleasure, and I hope the audience embraces it with the same love and excitement.”

From February 22nd to March 11th, ‘Manjummel Boys’ earned Rs 89.15 crore at the box office and Rs 130 crore globally. By March 21st, the movie had grossed Rs 200 crore worldwide, making history as the first Malayalam film to achieve this milestone and emerging as the third highest-grossing Indian movie in 2024.
