Veteran BJP leader Arun Jaitley’s death has come as a shock. The veteran politician died at the age of 66. The BJP government is in deep shock over Jaitley’s demise as it has come close in the heels of the death of Sushma Swaraj. Narendra Modi has sent condolence to Jaitley’s family members and wrote an emotional post on social media.
“Arun Jaitley Ji was a political giant, towering intellectual and legal luminary. He was an articulate leader who made a lasting contribution to India. His passing away is very saddening. Spoke to his wife Sangeeta Ji as well as son Rohan, and expressed condolences. Om Shanti,” wrote Modi.

Upon the death, the AIIMS doctors issued a statement on Jaitley’s death which reads, “It is with profound grief that we inform about the sad demise of Shri Arun Jaitley, Hon’ble Member of Parliament and former Finance Minister Government of India at 12:07 pm on August 24, 2019. Arun Jaitley was admitted in AIIMS, New Delhi on 09/08/2019 and was treated by a multidisciplinary team of senior Doctors.”
