Appaji Ambarisha remembered a scene from a movie where he and Balakrishna were acting together. In that scene, a lady in the movie had to break some bangles and spit on Balakrishna’s face. It had to look real, so Balakrishna told her to actually spit on him.
Appaji Ambarisha said, “I was surprised when he said that. But he wanted the scene to look genuine.” He also said, “In another scene, I had to act like I was challenging Balakrishna’s character. I was nervous, but after we did it, Balakrishna praised me. He even came back to tell me he was leaving, which was very kind.”
Appaji mentioned that after that, Balakrishna always had a chair for him and they had friendly talks. They often talked about Balakrishna’s father’s work and cricket stories.
