National Anthem Turns Mandatory In Theatres

The Supreme Court of India has today ordered that the national anthem must be played in all the cinema halls across the country. It also said that the people in the halls must rise and pay respect to the national anthem. The central government agreed to Supreme Court’s order and is now co-ordinating with all the state governments to implement it.

Already, this rule is being followed in states like Maharashtra from a long time. It was implemented in Hyderabad a few months back but was dropped soon. Now, as it became a mandatory affair, every theater in the country must play it accompanied by the national flag on the screen, before the show. Meanwhile, people are praising Supreme Court for taking the good decision.
