Just as we had Srimanthudu, Maharshi, and now Sreekaram in Telugu, Jayam Ravi will be seen as a farmer in Bhoomi and this will also officially mark Nidhi Agarwal’s debut in Tamil cinema. Meant for release on May 1, 2020, the movie was delayed indefinitely after the government imposed a countrywide lockdown. Meanwhile, Jayam Ravi is also set to feature in two other films, Ponniyin Selvan and Janaganamana.
Ponniyin Selvan which will be a historical drama movie starring Vikram, Karthi, and Jayam Ravi in the lead roles. There will be a social message, on the lines of Shankar’s films, will not be one of those regular village stories, but something like the one we see in Thiruda Thiruda.” D Imman has been roped in to compose music. The film also stars Bollywood actor Ronit Roy as the antagonist. He will be making his Tamil debut with this project. It will be Ronit’s second southern project after Jr NTR’s Telugu film Jai Lava Kusa. Nidhi Agarwal didn’t have an impressive film career in the South but luckily for her, Puri Jagannath’s Ismart Shankar became a blockbuster and she has been flooded with films albeit for her glamorous looks. Let’s hope she gets a hit as well in Tamil cinema with Bhoomi.
