Nirangal Moondru: OTT release
Nirangal Moondru, a crime thriller starring Atharvaa Murali, premiered on OTT nearly a month after its theatrical release. Directed by Karthick Naren, the film is now streaming on Aha Tamil from December 20, 2024.
The film, which hit theaters on November 22, received mixed reviews but managed a decent box office run. Its digital debut was announced through Aha Tamil’s social media, accompanied by a poster captioned, “Trippy ride starts! Watch #Nirangalmoondru streaming now on namma @ahatamil.”
The film follows three parallel storylines that intertwine. Sri, a young man, investigates the abduction of Parvathy, his teacher Vasanth’s daughter, who fled her abusive father with her mother’s help. Vasanth, overwhelmed with guilt, takes his own life. Meanwhile, aspiring filmmaker Vetri discovers his stolen script and resolves to find the culprit. Inspector Selvam handles a hit-and-run case involving a minister’s son but faces tragic consequences. The narrative ends with Sri reconciling with his father and Vetri honoring his parents’ memory.
Nirangal Moondru features a strong cast, including Atharvaa Murali, R Sarathkumar, Rahman, Dushyanth Jayaprakash, John Vijay, and Ammu Abhirami. Director Karthick Naren emphasized creating impactful roles for the actors, ensuring even minor characters left a lasting impression.
In an interview, Karthick Naren shared that senior actors joined the project due to their trust in the script. He was determined not to break this trust, focusing on well-crafted character arcs.
