The 90th Academy Awards remembered India film stars Shashi Kapoor and Sridevi who recently passed away. In the ‘In Memoriam’ segment 2018 Oscars paid tribute to many actors, the film industry has lost over the year.
Jennifer Garner introduced the segment at the prestigious awards ceremony. Eddie Vedder then took the stage to perform the late Tom Petty’s song, “Room at the Top.”
‘In Memoriam’ also remembered former James Bond Sir Roger Moore, French star Jeanne Moreau, actors Martin Landau and Harry Dean Stanton, actor and playwright Sam Shepard, and directors George Romero and Jonathan Demme.
Shashi Kapoor, 79, died last year in december and Sridevi died of accidentally drowning in Dubai hotel room on February 24 , she was 54.
Touched by the heartfelt gesture, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan thanked the Academy of Motion Pictures and Science in a tweet.
