Surya and Vikram, popular Tamil actors, have garnered a strong fan base in Telugu cinema despite their Tamil origins. Interestingly, both faced similar challenges while working on their high-budget projects simultaneously. Initially slated for an April release, Surya’s film Kanguva, directed by Siruthai Siva, faced setbacks due to budget overruns and extensive delays in VFX and post-production. Now, there’s uncertainty about whether the film will hit screens during Dussehra or Diwali.

Likewise, Vikram’s project “Tangalaan,” directed by Pa Ranjith, encountered hurdles. The film, set against the backdrop of jungle life, left an intriguing impression with its teaser, hinting at intense stunts performed by Vikram. Originally announced for release on January 26, the date got pushed back, considering potential clashes with Tamil Nadu elections in March or April.

The looming clash between “Kanguva” and “Tangalaan” adds to the complexity. Kollywood distributors advise against overlapping releases to avoid impacting each other’s box office performance. Balancing the release dates is further complicated by the need to avoid competing with Telugu pan India movies like “OG,” “Devara Part 1,” “Pushpa 2 The Rule,” and “Game Changer,” as this could affect openings in markets like Telugu states and Karnataka.

While Vikram and Suriya grapple with challenges in their films, it appears that Kamal Haasan and Shiva Karthikeyan are encountering similar obstacles. Both Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 and Shiva Karthikeyan’s upcoming project are reportedly stuck with similar issues, creating a sense of uncertainty around the progress of these highly anticipated films. The film industry’s landscape seems to be presenting common hurdles for these prominent actors, leaving fans eagerly awaiting updates on the resolution of these issues and the eventual release of their respective movies.

Despite contemplating a release in January 2025, the filmmakers face the challenge of strategic planning. The absence of Ayalan and Captain Miller during Tollywood Sankranti in the current year necessitates careful consideration in order to make informed decisions and optimize their films’ success.
