Excerpt: Renu Desai, a prominent actress, filmmaker, writer, and activist, formerly married to Powerstar Pawan Kalyan, recently discussed her portrayal of Late Hemalatha Lavanam in the biographical film ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’ with the media.

Renu Desai, a well-known actress, filmmaker, writer, and activist, who was once married to Powerstar Pawan Kalyan, recently talked to the media about her role as Late Hemalatha Lavanam in the biographical film “Tiger Nageswara Rao.” Discussing her character in the film, she expressed, “It feels like destiny that I got this opportunity. Her character will inspire many women to fight against evil.”

When asked if she had any regrets, she mentioned, “My only regret is not getting the chance to meet the remarkable Late Hemalatha Lavanam. I wish I could have spent time with her and learned about her strength.” When questioned about the aspects of the character that were inspired by the real-life figure, she replied, “I spoke to her relatives, delved into their old memories, examined her pictures, and listened to their stories. This helped me understand how she would have behaved and carried herself.”

Regarding her son Akira’s interest in acting, she clarified, “No, he’s more focused on music and film production than acting. He even wrote a script for a college project and sought K Raghavendra Rao’s opinion.” When questioned if Akira might become a director instead of an actor, she replied, “I don’t know; he might choose to become an actor someday. It’s his decision, and we can’t push him. We’ll let you know if he decides to become an actor.”

As for her return to acting, Renu Desai explained, “I took my time because I couldn’t find the right roles. To accept a role, I need a compelling character, a great story, a good director, and a good producer. All these elements aligned perfectly for ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao.'”
