Salaar: What happened to the item song?

In the recent release of the movie Salaar starring Prabhas, fans were expecting an item song, a special musical number, to be a part of the film. There were reports and speculations about actress Simrat Kaur filming for this song. However, to everyone’s surprise, the movie did not include this anticipated item song.

There’s confusion among fans regarding whether the song was actually shot but removed from the first part of the movie, named “Cease Fire,” with the possibility of being included in the second part, “Shouryanga Parvam.” Some discussions suggest this uncertainty as one of the widely talked-about topics in social circles related to Salaar.

Earlier, reports mentioned that director Prashanth Neel had indeed filmed an item song for Salaar in Hyderabad, featuring actress Simrat Kaur. However, fans were disappointed when the song didn’t appear in the movie. Speculations arose, suggesting the song might have been edited out due to runtime issues or held for inclusion in the sequel, Salaar 2.

To find out if the item song will be part of the sequel, audiences will need to wait until the release of part 2. Comparisons have been drawn with Prashanth Neel’s previous film, KGF, which also featured a special song. The filming for Salaar 2 is reportedly set to start in the latter half of 2025.

Directed by Prashanth Neel, Salaar is an action-packed drama starring Prithviraj Sukumaran alongside Prabhas, with Shruti Haasan in the lead female role. The film also features Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, Eswari Rao, Ramachandra Raju, and Sapthagiri in significant roles. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner, Salaar made a strong start at the box office, and its overall performance throughout its run remains to be seen.
