Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s bail plea got postponed until tomorrow, following which the actor has to spend another night in jail. Salman was convicted on Thursday for the 20-year-old poaching case where he killed two blackbucks. While sentencing him the quantum punishment, the Chief judicial magistrate Dev Kumar Khatri said, “The accused is a popular actor whose deeds are followed by people. Despite this, the accused hunted two blackbucks.”
Meanwhile, Salman’s lawyer Anand Desai tried to defend his client but in vain as the judge considered a serious offence, saying, “Considering the rising number of cases of illegal hunting of wildlife animals, looking at the circumstances of the case and gravity of the offence, giving the benefit of Probation of Offender Act does not appear justified.”
