Sankranthi ki Vastunnam saves Game Changer

In a strategic move, renowned producer Dil Raju sold the distribution rights of two major Telugu films, Game Changer and Sankranthi ki Vastunnam, as a package deal to the same buyer in each region. This approach aimed to balance the commercial prospects of both films and provide assurance to distributors.
The combined rights for the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were sold for approximately ₹170 crore. As of now, the total earnings from both films in these regions have reached around ₹185 crore, including Goods and Services Tax (GST). This indicates a profitable outcome for the distributors involved.
Game Changer, directed by S. Shankar and starring Ram Charan, is a high-budget political action film. Despite its star power and anticipation, the film’s extensive production costs posed a significant financial risk. On the other hand, Sankranthi ki Vastunnam, featuring Victory Venkatesh and directed by Anil Ravipudi, was designed as a festive release for Sankranti, aiming to attract family audiences during the holiday season.
By bundling the rights of both films, Dil Raju ensured that the strong market appeal of Sankranthi ki Vastunnam could offset any potential underperformance of Game Changer. This strategy provided a safety net for distributors, mitigating the financial risks associated with high-budget productions.
