Reports have emerged suggesting that Sreeleela has quit an upcoming comedy film fearing Mrunal Thakur’s dominance in the project. The film directed by David Dhawan and produced by Ramesh Taurani was initially reported to feature both Sreeleela and Mrunal Thakur as the leading heroines.
On Friday, social media buzzed with news that Sreeleela had withdrawn from the film. Speculation suggests that Sreeleela felt Mrunal Thakur’s role in the movie had become more prominent, potentially relegating her to a lesser part. This concern reportedly led Sreeleela to step away from the project at the last minute.
In response to these rumors, producer Ramesh Taurani clarified that Sreeleela was never officially part of the cast. He mentioned that the first schedule of filming had already been completed, and an official announcement regarding the cast would be made soon. This statement contradicted previous confirmations from director David Dhawan who had earlier stated that both Mrunal and Sreeleela were involved in the film.
Sreeleela’s career in the South Indian film industry has not been advancing as she had hoped. Consequently, she has been seeking more significant roles in Bollywood. Her upcoming project, “Diler,” marks her debut in Hindi cinema. “Diler,” directed by Kunal Deshmukh and produced by Maddock Films, is described as an intense love story set against the backdrop of sports, featuring Ibrahim Ali Khan as her co-star.
While the exact reasons for Sreeleela’s exit from the comedy film remain unclear, her focus now appears to be on making a strong entry into Bollywood with “Diler.” The industry and her fans are eagerly waiting to see how her career unfolds in the Hindi film industry.
