SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali series has put Indian cinema on global platform. The film not only won accolades in various categories but also hogged the International limelight. The film also acted as catalyst for numerous filmamakers to attempt pan-Indian film. Recently the first installment completed five years of its release and social media was abuzz with celebratory messages.
While each and every role in the film has been etched out in the fans minds, Sathayraj’s role as Kattappa standouts with it’s power-packed performance. However, not many know that Sathyaraj was not the first choice for the role, rather it was a Bollywood actorwho was the first choice of the makers. Baahubali writer Vijayendra Prasad has revealed that makers wanted to rope in Sanjay Dutt for Kattapp’s role. However, as the actor was serving in prison, the role eventually went to Sathyaraj.
