For the first time, In an Indian cinema, the actress is getting paid more than her male co-stars. She is none other than Deepika Padukone and she has reversed the wage gap with her forthcoming flick Padmavati.
The makers of the movie have paid Rs.13 Cr as remuneration to Deepika Padukone for the film. Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor share equal digits Rs.10 Cr for Padmavati respectively.
‘Padmavati’ is a periodic film that tells the story of Alauddin Khilji, the medieval-era Delhi ruler, who was infatuated with Rajput queen Padmavati.
