Expert : Reports emerged suggesting that Varalakshmi Sarathkumar had received notices from the NIA for questioning in connection with the drug case. Varalaxmi addressed the issue for the first time, firmly asserting her innocence.
Lately, we’ve been hearing about many film celebrities getting involved in drug-related issues. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, a popular actress, found herself in a similar situation.Her former manager, Adilingam, got arrested in a drug peddling case in Tamil Nadu. There were even reports that she received notices from the NIA for questioning in the drug case. However, she denied any involvement. Recently, Varalaxmi spoke to Telugu media for the first time since the drug issue came up. Here’s what she had to say:
“I have no connection to the drug case. The person in question was a freelance manager for me. He worked with me during the filming of Sarkar, and he also helped me secure a few other film projects. I can’t be held responsible for his personal life or choices. I have no association with him or his activities,” the actress stated.
She added, “No one would pay much attention if they reported that this man was arrested in a drug case. But it becomes news when they frame it as ‘Varalaxmi’s manager.’ The media sensationalized the case more than anything else.”
Varalakshmi Sarathkumar is a versatile actress known for her appearances in films across multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi. She began her acting journey in 2012 when she auditioned for the film Poda Podi and secured the role. Interestingly, her father initially encouraged her to decline the opportunity, but she went ahead with it. Her debut film, Poda Podi, featured her opposite Silambarasan TR, where she portrayed the character Nisha. Since her debut, starting in 2012, Varalakshmi has consistently received positive responses for her acting skills and has been appreciated for her performances.
