It is yet again a disappointment for India at the Oscars. Tamil film Visaaranai, which was sent as the India’s official selection for 89th Academy Awards wasn’t selected for shortlisted films for the nominations. Thus, the journey of the film at the Oscars has ended midway. The director of the film, Vetrimaaran, has officially shared the news on his Twitter page.
Visaarani is a crime based docudrama which is based on a novel. The story deals with the loopholes in our Police system and how innocent people are being affected with that. The film was appreciated by many for its realistic portrayal. It was produced by hero Dhanush under his banner Wunderbar Films. Nevertheless, Visaaranai has gone a long way and it will be always remembered for its remarkable achievement.
