West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was injured on her forehead on March 14 and has been taken to a hospital, as reported by the Trinamool Congress. Pictures shared by the party showed Ms. Banerjee bleeding from her forehead. She is currently receiving treatment at the state-run SSKM Hospital in Kolkata. Abhishek Banerjee, the national general secretary of the Trinamool Congress and Mamata Banerjee’s nephew, facilitated her admission to the hospital, according to party sources. State BJP president Sukanta Majumdar expressed his wishes for her speedy recovery, stating, “Our prayers are with her for a quick return to good health.”
