What Is Harikrishna’s Connection With Room No 1001?

Actor turned politician Nandamuri Harikrishna’s last rites were held at Mahaprasthanam, Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. The deceased mortal remains were carried in Chaitanya Ratham, the vehicle Harikrishna drove for NTR during Andhra Pradesh 1982 elections. Putting this aside, an interesting nugget has surfaced about Harikrishna’s connection with room number 1001 in hotel Aahawaanam situated in Abids.

Krishna, the caretaker of Aahawaanam and close friend to Harikrishna, says that room number 1001 was Harikrishna’s favourite and spent most of his time here. He says that everyday Harikrishna used to visit the place starting his day at 6 am by offering prayers to the Ganesh idol placed outside his room. Then he goes to back his home only to come at 12 noon and then meeting political friends and fans among other thing used to take place till 3 pm. Harikrishna used to be there till 4 pm and then leaving back to his home after spending the time, says Krishna.

The foundation stone for hotel Aahawaanam was laid in 1964 and the inauguration happened in 1968. Harikrishna had spent most of his time at Ramakrishna Theatre premises and the hotel after he got his property share. Incidentally, the day Harikrishna died, he called up to Krishna in the morning and informed that he was going to Nellore to attend a wedding and his visit to the hotel was doubtful. Krishna, who came to know about his demise, said that it was a shock and never knew that that could be his last sight on August 28.

Harikrishna died at the age of 61 on August 29 in a road accident at Annaparthi road near Narketpally. Notably, Harikrishna died a few days ago from his birthday which falls on September 2. Meanwhile, do you know what was the actor’s last wish? Harikrishna has penned an open letter to his fans which has now gone viral. In the letter, Harikrishna requested his fans to refrain from extravaganza celebrations to prevent them from wasting money. Instead, he asked his fans to donate the amount to Kerala floods which help them in rebuilding their lives.
