Mammootty’s Yatra Movie Review and Rating
The biographical film based on the life of the late YS Rajasekhar Reddy. The biopic charts the journey of YSR’s personality rather than just showcasing political spectrum. After almost two decades, the Malayalam film Megastar Mammootty has re-entered the film with Tollywood. How did his Yatra has etched out is to be seen?
Yatra is an event based biopic. The late YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s historic Padayatra is showcased and how this Padayatra transforms YSR personality is etched out. The events he discovered and the problems he encountered in his Padayatra is shows. Similarly, the national party which lost hopes and was on the verge to sink was revived by YSR with his sheer dedication and commitment by emerging victorious in the elections.
Being a biopic, the movie revolves around the role of Rajeskhar Reddy. Mammootty has lived up to the role. With his acting prowess, Mammootty from the first shot has got into the skin of YSR seamlessly. Rajasekhar Reddy’s charisma, the charm, humility, among others have been depicted well. In the role of RajaReddy, Jagapathi Babu showed his mark in both scenes. Baahubali 2 actress Ashrita got fit into the role of Vijayamma. Rao Ramesh, who appeared in another important role, took the lead role in the role of KVP. Anasuya, Suhasini, and Posani Krishnamuralil who appeared on the screen appeared to live on the characters they played.
This is not the story of YS Rajasekhar Reddy but his personality. How is YSR’s politics? What is the values he carries? What assurances does he give to those who believe in him? What is the change in YSR drew after his historic Pdayatra. From the first scene, YSR’s politics showed how the audience could understand. And also the hardships and hurdles he faced during his Yatra has been charted out.
The film also depicts of Chandrababu Naidu’s contribution to Hyderabad and HiTech city, but how he neglected farmer crisis. The film nowhere gets into preachy tone by glorgying but everything appears in smooth transition as he was the person to be mean as “people;s man”.
