YCP’s Rs. 2.1 crore deal to Ram Gopal Varma exposed

GV Reddy, the chairman of AP Fibernet, has revealed that the YSR Congress Party (YCP) made an illegal payment of Rs. 2.1 crore to filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma during their time in power. According to GV Reddy, the payment was made for the film Vyuham, which was aired on AP Fibernet. It is known that Ram Gopal Varma, often supportive of YCP, had shared content that was critical of other parties, including TDP and Janasena, under Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership.

GV Reddy explained that the payment was excessive. For the 18 lakh views Vyuham received, the amount due to Varma would have been around Rs. 2 lakh. However, the YCP government paid him Rs. 2.1 crore, which raised questions about the transaction’s legitimacy.

In addition, GV Reddy discussed the decline of AP Fibernet since YCP took over in 2019. He claimed that the network, which had been established under Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership to provide affordable internet services, had deteriorated under the current regime. While the previous government had laid 24,000 km of lines and provided 10 lakh connections by 2019, the YCP government reduced this number to just 5 lakh.

G.V.Reddy further alleged that key documents were altered to protect YCP’s illegal activities, and that a female employee who exposed this was fired. A vigilance investigation is currently looking into these claims of corruption at AP Fibernet during the YCP’s time in power.
