'Yendira Ee Panchayati' Review

Village dramas coupled with romantic tracks are in good demand nowadays in Telugu cinema. ‘Yendira Ee Panchayati’ is the latest film that combines various genres of love, suspense, crime thrillers. Produced by Pradeep Kumar M under Prabhat Creations banner, the film stars Bharat and Vishika Laxman in the lead roles.

Gangadhara T is making his debut as a director with this movie. The film hit theaters on Friday. And let’s see if there is any juice in it.

Story

The story of ‘Yendira Ee Panchayati’ is set in a village named Ramapuram. Abhi (Bharat), who aspires to become a police inspector, wanders aimlessly without much focus on his goal. He commits petty thefts in the village along with his two friends. One day, he stumbles upon the village beauty named Yamuna (played by Vishika) and falls for her. Shockingly, Abhi gets arrested in the case of attempted murder against the girl’s father. At the same time, a few elders in the village die under suspicious circumstances. Does Abhi have a role in all these murders? How did Abhi get out of it? Who is behind these murders is the story.

Performances

Actor Bharat gave a brilliant performance as innocent Abhi. He nailed his performance  — action, comedy and emotional scenes. And Vishika is too impressive with her innocent yet beautiful looks of a typical rural girl. Actor Kashi Vishwanath plays an emotional role as the father. Ravi Varma is impressive in his role Sudhakar. Other characters too have given their best to add drama to the story.

Analysis

Director Gangadhara has added the elements of suspense and thrill in good doses. The story paces up at good speed with the engaging screenplay, bearing a few dull sequences in between. The songs are good and have added to the story’s progress.

Although ‘Yendira Ee Panchayati’ lacks novelty in the story, the director managed to bring a conclusive and crisp ending. The story gathers steam when the protagonist gets arrested by the police just before the interval bang.

The entire first half looks fun with heartful comedy. The hero and his gang commit petty thefts. The story turns a bit serious in the second half. The twists are revealed in the climax. All the mystery murders in the village will be disclosed at the end.

Technically Yendira Ee Panchayati is pleasing with its tone and soul. It looks too stretchy in the second half. The camera work is impressive. The visuals look very natural on the screen. The singles in the film are entertaining. The production values seem laudable for the film that is packed and parceled with a low budget.

Bottomline

‘Yendira Ee Panchayati’ is a proper village drama with elements of suspense, crime, and mystery. Bearing a few dull blocks, the film impresses with its plot that touches various elements.
