This year, there was no hungama of any big films during the festive weekends barring Sankranthi. During Sankranthi, four films (Nannaku Prematho, Dictator, Express Raja and Soggade Chinni Nayana) were released and ended up successful at the box-office. During Ugadi, only Pawan Kalyan’s Sardaar Gabbar Singh was released but it didn’t fare well. The biggest Dussera festive weekend
The biggest Dussera festive weekend was also quite dull. First of all, none of the big films were released. Though four films hit the screens on the same day, only Premam has been successful in the Telugu states. Same with the case of Diwali. None of the Telugu films were released on that weekend which made a fight between Tamil dubbed films Kaashmora and Dharma Yogi. Among the both, the latter did an average business.
Now, the last festive weekend of the year, Christmas season might also become a dull period for TFI. First, it was thought both Nani’s Nenu Local and Venkatesh’s Guru will lock the horns. But now, both of them got postponed. Then Suriya’s S3 was supposed to join the race but even it got pushed to January. Now only considerably small films like Sapthagiri Express, Vangaveeti and Pittagoda will fight at the box-office. Anyway, we have to wait another couple of days to know who will be the winner of this year’s Christmas race.
