Looks like, Bollywood is on a remake spree of South films especially Tollywood. Earlier in the day, it was announced that Vishwak Sen’s HIT film is being remade in Hindi, and now Mathu Vadalara is heads to Bollywood. Ritesh Rana’s directorial debut that came in 2019 caught everyone’s attention with its quirky crime comedy. The Hindi remake will be helmed by the original director only.
Confirming about the same, the director says,” The producer and I always believed that the Mathu Vadalara script has the potential to be told on a larger scale. So we had initially thought of making the film in Hindi too. The appreciation and acclaim the Telugu version reinforced our confidence in the script, and we decided to narrate it to a wider audience”
He further adds, “we are trying to tweak it to suit the sensibilities of the Hindi audience, just to make sure that we tighten all the loose ends whilst retaining the core emotional appeal. So I am trying to give a new spin to the revised narrative”.
