Are Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna Teaming Up Again?
Superstar Rajinikanth is busy filming his upcoming movie Jailer 2, which is a sequel to the 2023 hit film Jailer. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, this Tamil action film is creating a lot of buzz. The latest news suggests that popular actor Nagarjuna Akkineni might join the cast as the main villain.
According to reports, the makers of Jailer 2 were searching for the right actor to play the antagonist. After Nagarjuna’s impressive performance in Coolie, he has now become their top choice for the role. However, there is no official confirmation yet.
Rajinikanth will return as the powerful character “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian. The sequel will also bring back big stars like Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar. There are talks that Nandamuri Balakrishna might make a special appearance. Other well-known actors like Fahadh Faasil and SJ Suryah are expected to be part of the project too.
On the other hand, Nagarjuna is currently working on a film titled Kuberaa, where he stars with Dhanush. This movie, directed by Sekhar Kammula, will release on June 20, 2025, and also features Rashmika Mandanna and Jim Sarbh.
Rajinikanth’s next film Coolie is set to release on August 14, 2025. This action entertainer will feature him in a darker role. It also stars Upendra Rao and Nagarjuna in key roles, with Aamir Khan making a guest appearance.
