Did Pooja Hegde just disrespect Telugu cinema?
In a recent interview, actress Pooja Hegde made a surprising mistake by referring to her film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, which she starred in alongside Allu Arjun, as a Tamil film instead of Telugu. The actress had a slip of the tongue while discussing her various pan-Indian movie projects.
Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is a popular Telugu film directed by Trivikram Srinivas. The movie tells the story of Bantu, a young man who faces constant neglect and humiliation from his father. Bantu’s life takes a dramatic turn when he discovers that he was swapped at birth and is the heir to a wealthy businessman’s empire. The film shows his journey to find his place in this new family, changing his life forever.
Is she on drugs or what?
She acted in a Telugu film but is saying that it’s a Tamil film. Should we 😆 or 😢 for her level of ‘intelligence’?

The film was a massive hit, both critically and commercially, becoming one of the highest-grossing films in Telugu cinema. It was even remade in Hindi as Shehzada, starring Kartik Aaryan. Pooja Hegde played the female lead in the movie, alongside a talented supporting cast that included actors like Jayaram, Tabu and Sushanth.
Apart from Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Pooja Hegde has been busy with several other projects. She recently starred in Deva alongside Shahid Kapoor which is a remake of the Malayalam film Mumbai Police. She is also set to appear in the movie Retro starring Suriya, and another film with Thalapathy Vijay, titled Jana Nayagan.
On the other hand, Allu Arjun, who last appeared in Pushpa 2: The Rule, is reportedly in talks for a new collaboration with Trivikram Srinivas for an upcoming mythological epic. However, details about his next project are yet to be officially confirmed.
The mix-up by Pooja Hegde may have been a small error but it has certainly drawn attention considering the significance of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in her career. Despite this, both Pooja and Allu Arjun continue to have a strong presence in the South Indian film industry with many exciting projects ahead.
