DYK Sai Pallavi was the first choice for Arjun Reddy?

Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director of Arjun Reddy, recently shared an interesting revelation at the pre-release event of his new film Thandel. He disclosed that Sai Pallavi was his first choice for the female lead in Arjun Reddy, which featured Vijay Deverakonda in the main role.

Vanga explained that he had been a fan of Sai Pallavi ever since her performance in Premam. Initially, he had her in mind for the role, but things took an unexpected turn when a Malayalam actor coordinator informed him about the actress’s preferences. According to the coordinator, Sai Pallavi was not open to wearing sleeveless dresses, a requirement for some scenes in the film. Moreover, she was unlikely to participate in the romantic sequences that were essential for the role.

This information led Vanga to reconsider casting her for the film. He noted that while he admired her commitment to maintaining strong principles throughout her career, it was clear that her image did not align with the demands of Arjun Reddy at that time. Vanga appreciated her for sticking to her beliefs, a rare quality in the industry.

At the event, Sai Pallavi also spoke highly of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, acknowledging his unique voice as a director. She praised his ability to remain true to himself, both on and off the screen, and admired his resistance to being influenced by external pressures.

As Thandel is set to release on February 7, 2025, the pre-release event in Hyderabad created a lot of buzz, especially with these unexpected insights into the casting decisions of one of the most talked-about films in recent times.
