DYK this epic multi-Starrer with Chiranjeevi and Nani was shelved?
In recent years, multi-starrer movies have become rare in Telugu cinema. Most star heroes are now focusing on solo films to build a strong pan-India image. Due to this trend and high production costs, many big collaborations are not happening.
One such missed opportunity was a movie featuring Megastar Chiranjeevi and Natural Star Nani. These two actors are very different in age and experience. Chiranjeevi entered the film industry 30 years before Nani made his debut. Despite the age gap, both come from non-filmy backgrounds and rose to fame purely through talent and hard work.
There was once a plan to bring Chiranjeevi and Nani together for an emotional drama. During the time Nani and Nagarjuna were working on the film Devadas, discussions started about this new project. However, after Devadas did not perform well at the box office, the producers dropped the idea, fearing another failure.
If this movie had happened, it could have been a big hit. Fans would have loved to see the energy of Nani combined with Chiranjeevi’s legendary screen presence. Sadly, it never moved beyond the planning stage.
Currently, Nani is focused on solo films with fresh concepts, aiming for national appeal. He is also successful as a producer. Interestingly, he is now producing a film for Chiranjeevi under the direction of Srikanth Odela. In this way, even though they are not sharing screen space, they are working together.
On the other hand, Chiranjeevi, who is nearing 70, continues to impress with his dedication. He is working on a film titled Vishwambara with director Vasishta and is also set to start a project with Anil Ravipudi.
Though fans missed the chance to see these two stars together on screen, there’s still hope that a collaboration may happen someday, even if in a different form.
