Fahadh Faasil takes an indirect dig at the film Pushpa?

pushpa 5 Fahadh Faasil

Fahadh Faasil recently discussed the unique characteristics of his films Pushpa 2 and Aavesham. With “Aavesham” achieving blockbuster status in Malayalam cinemas, Faasil is actively involved in its promotion, sharing fascinating insights into its making. In a recent interview, Faasil highlighted the contrasting elements of these two movies.

Fahadh Faasil, the acclaimed Malayalam actor celebrated for his diverse roles, recently shed light on the distinctiveness of his films Pushpa 2 and Aavesham that sparked debate among Telugu audience. As his recent film Aavesham enjoys blockbuster success in Malayalam cinemas, Faasil is actively engaging in its promotion. In a recent interview, Fahadh Faasil drew attention to the contrasting nature of these two movies.

He said that Pushpa 2 presents a storyline with universal appeal, adaptable to various settings, whereas Aavesham is deeply entrenched in the cityscape of Bangalore. However what went wrong is that Fahadh Faasil articulated that while the narrative of Pushpa: The Rise or The Rule could unfold against any forest backdrop, Aavesham relies heavily on Bangalore’s milieu, integral to its essence. He also talked about in difficulty in authentically capturing the geographical and cultural nuances of a specific locale, particularly in commercial ventures like Aavesham.

Fahad Faasil said, “Pushpa 2 boasts a universal story adaptable to any setting. But Aavesham is intrinsically tied to the city of Bangalore. Pushpa: The Rise or The Rule could be told with any forest backdrop, whereas we can’t narrate Aavesham without the Bangalore backdrop. Aavesham, though commercial movies, are very tough to make as they need to get the total geography right.”

However, his remarks ignited a debate within the Telugu audience as they feel that, compared to Aavesam, Pushpa had a much more authentic local flavor. It’s noteworthy that red-sander smuggling primarily occurs in South Indian forests, notably in Tirupati, making it challenging to envision an alternate setting for Pushpa. Perhaps, Sukumar, the director, didn’t delve into the complete storyline of Pushpa with Fahadh Faasil.

It’s evident that the narrative of Pushpa is intricately linked to the backdrop of Tirupati. Therefore, netizens are commenting that since Sukumar didn’t fully disclose the storyline of Pushpa to Fahadh Faasil, he really can’t understand how crucial the Tirupati backdrop is for the film.

Turning to Pushpa 2, the sequel to the 2021 hit Pushpa: The Rise, features Allu Arjun reprising his role as Sandalwood smuggler Pushparaj. The film continues the saga of Pushparaj and his exploits, with SP Bhanwar Singh Shekawat IPS hot on his pursuit. The ensemble cast includes familiar faces such as Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Rao Ramesh, and Dhananjaya, along with notable additions like Jagapathi Babu and Prakash Raj. Pushpa 2: The Rule is touted as one of the most expensive Indian films to date, generating considerable buzz with its record-breaking pre-business deals.
