Hrithik Roshan teams up with Hombale Films:

Hrithik Roshan is all set to make his South Indian cinema debut in style with a major collaboration with Hombale Films, the powerhouse behind blockbusters like Salaar and KGF.

The announcement of the project, currently referred to as #HrithikxHombale, sent fans into a frenzy. While details remain tightly under wraps, fresh buzz suggests that actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran might be directing the big-budget venture.

Is Prithviraj Sukumaran taking the Director’s chair?
Though no official confirmation has been made, industry chatter and a report by BFilmy Official speculate that the Lucifer and L2: Empuraan director could be helming the ambitious project. If true, this would mark a massive North-South crossover and one of the biggest pan-Indian collaborations in recent memory.

Prithviraj, known for his sharp direction and mass appeal, recently wrapped up L2: Empuraan, the much-awaited sequel to Lucifer starring Mohanlal. His growing stature as a filmmaker has made him one of the most sought-after directors in Indian cinema today.

The Official Announcement That Sparked It All
While the makers are still keeping key details under wraps, the official announcement from Hombale Films teased a grand cinematic vision. Their statement read:

“They call him the Greek God. He’s ruled hearts and shattered limits, and we see the phenomenon he truly is! We are proud to welcome Hrithik Roshan to the Hombale Films family for a collaboration years in the making. A tale of grit, grandeur, and glory is set to unfold, where intensity meets imagination, the Big Bang begins.”

Hrithik Roshan responded to the announcement with a simple yet powerful statement on social media: “Looking forward to this.”
The cryptic yet exciting announcement hints at an action-packed, high-concept film that could mark a new chapter in Hrithik’s illustrious career.

Prithviraj’s directorial momentum

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial vision in L2: Empuraan was widely praised for its scale and storytelling. The sequel continued the political crime saga of Stephen Nedumpally aka Khureshi Ab’raam, played by Mohanlal, and featured a star-studded cast including Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Abhimanyu Singh, Indrajith Sukumaran, and even international actors like Rick Yune and Jerome Flynn.

Aside from directing, Prithviraj has a packed acting slate with titles like Vilayath Buddha, the international project Nobody, and a key role in SS Rajamouli’s next, tentatively titled SSMB29, starring Mahesh Babu.

Hrithik’s Upcoming Lineup
While the buzz around HrithikxHombale continues to grow, the superstar is currently gearing up for War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji and co-starring Jr NTR. The highly anticipated action thriller is scheduled to hit cinemas on August 14, 2025.

As the Indian film industry increasingly embraces cross-regional collaborations, a Hrithik-Prithviraj-Hombale trio could deliver a cinematic spectacle of epic proportions.
